KENT, Ohio — Delbert Mimms III ran for two touchdowns and a career-high 145 yards and Eastern Michigan beat winless Kent State 52-33 on Saturday in a Mid-American Conference opener.

It was the first 100-yard rushing day for an Eastern Michigan running back since Samson Evans ran for 127 yards against Buffalo on Nov. 23, 2023.

Mimms busted loose for a 27-yard touchdown run midway through the second quarter, and he added another 27-yard score that stretched the Eagles' lead to 45-21 about a minute into the fourth.

Elijah Jackson-Anderson had a pair of short touchdown runs for Eastern Michigan (4-1, 1-0), which finished with 273 yards on the ground. Quarterback Cole Snyder and Deion Brown also had touchdown runs.

Kent State tied the game three times, the last with Tommy Ulatowski's 65-yard touchdown pass to Chrishon McCray on the second play of the second half that made it 21-all.

Snyder was 25-of-32 passing for 211 yards with a touchdown and no interceptions for Eastern Michigan.

Ulatowski threw three touchdown passes and ran for another score for Kent State (0-5, 0-1). He completed 15 of 28 passes for 345 yards.
