SMITHFIELD, R.I. — Jarrett Guest passed for 282 yards and connected with Landon Ruggieri for three touchdowns in Bryant's 21-17 victory over Division II Franklin Pierce on Saturday.

Bryant trailed 17-14 midway through the fourth quarter before Fabrice Mukendi highlighted a 10-play drive with an 18-yard run and Ruggieri capped it with a 9-yard TD reception with 4:02 left.

Franklin Pierce turned it over on downs before Bryant was forced to punt with 1:58 left to give the Ravens one more chance at a winning drive.

Adrian Parker found Joziah Gonzalez for a 22-yard grab on third down and he also completed a 16-yard pass on third-and-15. The Ravens got to their 46 before two incompletions ended the threat.

Guest was 26 of 41 with nine completions going to Ruggieri, who had 129 yards. Mukendi carried 10 times for 62 yards for Bryant (1-1).

Adrian Parker was 28 of 50 for 268 yards and a touchdown for Franklin Pierce. Jahmir Dixon caught five passes for 89 yards and a score.

Franklin Pierce took a 14-7 lead on a 52-yard touchdown from Parker to Dixon early in the third quarter.

Guest tied it at 14-all midway through the third quarter on a 20-yard pass to Ruggieri, but Franklin Pierce answered with a 32-yard field goal.

Bryant faces Holy Cross next Saturday before making its Coastal Athletic Association debut against New Hampshire on Sept. 21.
