GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Simon Romfo threw for two touchdowns and North Dakota used a little more than the last quarter-and-a-half to pull away from San Diego for a 41-24 win on Saturday.

Tied at 17, Gaven Ziebarth ran it in from the 1 with 9:19 left in the third. A little more than six minutes later, Romfo threw a 41-yard scoring pass to Bo Belquist, and C.J. Elquist's 31-yard field goal with three seconds left in the quarter made it 34-17.

Sawyer Seidl ran for 123 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown for North Dakota. His 70-yard scoring run early in the second quarter brought the Fighting Hawks (3-1) within 14-10.

Isaiah Smith ran for 77 yards on 13 carries and scored a touchdown. His 2-yard scoring run with 1:52 left to play ended the scoring. Ziebarth ran for 57 yards on 13 carries. Beiquist had three catches for 116 yards and two scores.

Grant Sergent threw for 243 yards, two touchdowns and was intercepted twice for the Toreros (2-1).
