Freshman Olivia Galati pitched a five-inning perfect game with 12 strikeouts to lead Hofstra to an 8-0 victory over George Mason in the first game of a softball doubleheader Friday. With her third shutout, Galati improved to 12-2 and lowered her ERA to 1.20. Sara Michalowski had three RBIs.

Erin Wade pitched a one-hitter as the Pride won the second game, 6-1. Tessa Ziemba had three RBIs for Hofstra (20-6, 5-0 CAA).

Dowling sweeps. Emily Slack homered for Dowling in a 9-1 win over Bloomfield in Game 1 of a doubleheader. Danielle Messina went 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs to lead Dowling (13-9, 2-0 ECC) to an 8-0 win in Game 2. Jamie Stalter had 11 strikeouts.

Old Westbury splits. Samantha Siegler went 2-for-4 with a homer and four RBIs and Jessica Spero hit a three-run homer for Old Westbury (6-8) in a 9-1 win over Brooklyn College in Game 1. Brooklyn College (8-4) took Game 2, 6-0.

BASEBALLBriarcliffe sweeps. Rick Doht threw a three-hitter with seven strikeouts to lead Briarcliffe to an 8-0 win over Fisher in Game 1 of a doubleheader. In Game 2, Mike Rocco's two-out RBI single in the bottom of the sixth helped Briarcliffe (11-5) earn a 2-1 win.

Hofstra 5, Northeastern 2: Ethan Paquette had three RBIs for Hofstra (7-13, 1-0 CAA). David D'Errico allowed an earned run, striking out four, and freshman Matt Watkins pitched a scoreless ninth for his first career save. Northeastern is 6-10, 0-4.
