Stony Brook releases non-conference schedule
The pressure will be on Stony Brook again to perform during the non-conference portion of its season. The reigning America East regular season champion’s schedule includes games at Connecticut, Maryland and Seton Hall.
The Seawolves’ season begins with a home game against Mount Ida on Sunday, November 11. That will be followed by a 6 a.m. game at Rider, part of ESPN’S College Hoops Tip-Off Marathon on November 13.
The remainder of Stony Brook’s November schedule includes games at Fairleigh Dickinson on November 15, Connecticut on November 25, Cornell (Nov. 28). The Seawolves, who had a 14-game winning streak at Pritchard Gymnasium, host Sacred Heart on November 18 and Canisius on November 24.
The Connecticut game will be played at either Gampel Pavilion or the XL Center in Hartford.
"Our non-conference schedule will most certainly challenge our student-athletes and prepare them for our conference schedule and for the America East Championship," Pikiell said. "I'm excited that our kids will get the opportunity to play on ESPN in a unique and exciting event, and I'm excited that they will play some of the best in college basketball in UConn, Maryland and Seton Hall."
Stony Brook’s December schedule, highlighted by games at Maryland and Seton Hall on the 21st and 28th, begins on the 1st against Eastern Illinois at Pritchard. The Seawolves play at St. Francis (NY) on the 11th and at Sacred Heart on December 18.
