Albert Haynesworth released by Buccaneers

Albert Haynesworth has been released for the third time in less than a year.
The Buccaneers cut bait with the 30-year-old defensive tackle today, announcing that they were releasing him from his contract. Tampa had claimed Haynesworth last November after the Patriots released him. New England signed Haynesworth after he was released by the Redskins, who signed him to a $100 million deal in 2009.
It remains to be seen where Haynesworth winds up – if anywhere. He had zero sacks last season, and was on the losing team in 10 straight games, including his last two with the Patriots.
Eagles defensive line coach Jim Washburn, who was Haynesworth’s position coach in Tennessee, has been supportive of Haynesworth. And former Titans coach Jeff Fisher, who attempted to re-sign Haynesworth before being out-bid by the Redskins, is now in St. Louis as head coach. Former Titans defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz is now the Lions’ head coach, although he already has a hyper-aggressive defensive tackle in Ndamukong Suh.
Regardless of where he ends up, Haynesworth will be playing for substantially less money than he once commanded on the open market
