Waiver wire adds

After breakout performances, a look at whom to monitor on the waiver wire this week.

Bobby Rainey, RB

Buccaneers

After scoring the game-winning touchdown for the Bucs last week against the Dolphins, Rainey put up an even bigger performance this week. Formerly with the Browns, Rainey was acquired by the Bucs and was forced to step in because of injuries to Doug Martin and Mike James. Rainey and Brian Leonard split carries against the Dolphins, but Rainey carried the load Sunday, putting up 163 rushing yards and three touchdowns in a win over the Falcons. The Dolphins and Falcons both rank in the bottom third in rushing yards allowed per game, so Rainey will need to prove himself against more formidable opponents, but for now, he's a solid flex play.

Marquise Goodwin, WR

Bills

With Stevie Johnson and Robert Woods out against the Jets, Goodwin had a chance to prove himself. He had the fastest 40-yard dash time (4.27) at the NFL combine this year, and it showed on his 43-yard touchdown grab. The rookie had six catches for 81 yards on a team-high nine targets and also broke off a 17-yard run. If Johnson or Woods miss any more time, Goodwin could be a nice fill-in.

Jarius Wright, WR

Vikings

Wright got the start in place of Greg Jennings, who was out with an Achilles injury, against the Seahawks on Sunday. Cordarrelle Patterson also got the start at wide receiver over Jerome Simpson, who was benched after being charged with two counts of drunken driving last week. Patterson was expected to play a bigger part in the offense, but despite getting a team-high nine targets, he had only three catches for 28 yards. Wright, on the other hand, had three catches for 69 yards and two touchdowns on only four targets. Seattle's defense is second-best in the league against the pass, so both Patterson and Wright should fare better against lighter opponents. Neither is a fantasy starter at this point but could be, depending on what happens with Jennings and Simpson.
