Giants, Jets among top six on Forbes' most valuable NFL franchises
The Giants-Cowboys game Sunday night in Dallas wasn't just a prime-time battle of NFC East foes. It also was a battle of two of the most valuable franchises in the NFL.
Forbes Monday released its list of the most valuable NFL franchises and the Cowboys are No. 1 with a value of $4 billion. The Giants are fourth at $2.8 billion.
All of the recent controversy surrounding the New England Patriots hasn't hurt their value as Forbes has the franchise ranked second at $3.2 billion.
Washington is third at $2.85 billion, giving the NFC East three of the four most valuable franchises in the league. The 49ers are fifth at $2.7 billion.
The Jets -- fresh off a 31-10 win over the Browns in Todd Bowles' head-coaching debut -- are sixth on the list with a value of $2.6 billion.
The rest of the top 10: the Texans are No. 7 ($2.5 billion), the Bears are No. 8 ($2.45 billion), the Eagles are No. 9 ($2.4 billion) and the Packers are No. 10 ($1.95 billion).
