QUOTABLE
"I told you all a couple weeks ago that he is different. I didn't say that because I thought he was an alien." – Special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey on Kadarius Toney’s breakout performance against the Saints last week
INTANGIBLES
The Giants have thrown just one interception this season, and it came on a desperation throw into the end zone on the last play of the first half last week. On Sunday though, they will face a cornerback in Trevon Diggs who alone has just as many or more interceptions this season (five) than 29 of the 31 other teams in the NFL. "I think you’ve got to know where this guy is," Joe Judge said. "You don’t have the results that he’s had by accident . . . He’s very, very aggressive, he’s got great ball skills, he’s got great instincts." Daniel Jones said being aware of Diggs’ desire to be aggressive will help mitigate turnovers. "Like any good corner or defensive back he’s selective about when he kind of takes those chances," Jones said, "so you have to be heads up for that and being aware of it."
NUMBER, PLEASE
0: Points allowed by the Giants in the first quarter this season. The Bills are the only other team in the NFL that has not allowed a point in their first quarters of play. If the Giants can keep Dallas off the board in the first quarter Sunday it will be just the second time in franchise history they open a season with five straight games without allowing a first-quarter point. The only other time was 1989.
