Giants' Jacobs storms off, spewing expletives

Brandon Jacobs has been a part of backfields with two players sharing reps. He and Derrick Ward did it to near perfection in 2008 when they both ran for over 1,000 yards. So he was asked whether players have to put their egos aside in cases like that and do what is best for the team.
"You think I'm stupid, don't you," he said. "You guys are funny."
And then he stormed out of the locker room shouting expletives at the media.
Guess that answers that question.
Sure Jacobs has been in this two-back situation before, but he recently has been the No. 1 while someone else was the wingman. Now this year it will be Ahmad Bradshaw getting the bulk of the early touches in games while Jacobs will be, technically, the second-stringer. That hasn't sat well with him.
He's made murky comments about just trying to make the team, used air quotes to emphasize the role the team wants him to play, and after last week's preseason finale against the Patriots in which he had zero carries said, "It's almost hard to stay positive."
Jacobs reportedly had simmered down after the game. He said his comments were more about not having carries against the Pats than his big-picture place on the team. He had a conversation with Tom Coughlin about that last week, and Coughlin said he thought Jacobs' unhappiness would not be an issue.
Before his abrupt exit, Jacobs was asked if he envisions a situation similar to the one in 2008, where the running back with the hot hand gets the bulk of the carries.
"I don't envision anything," he said. "I come to work every day and work hard. Whatever happens happens."
