INTANGIBLES

Sam Darnold had five rushing touchdowns in his three years with the Jets. He has five rushing touchdowns in his two months with the Panthers. "Sometimes when he scores you listen to (offensive coordinator) Joe Brady over the headset and he’ll scream: ‘Derrick Henry!’ " Panthers head coach Matt Rhule said. "He’s kind of become this short-yardage power back down in the tight red zone." The Henry comparison isn’t far off . . . statistically anyway. The Titans’ bruiser is the only player in the league with more rushing TDs than Darnold, who is tied with five others for second. It’s a part of the Panthers offense the Giants will have to be prepared for. "You’re dealing with college stuff," defensive coordinator Patrick Graham said. "You’ve got to make sure someone’s accountable for the quarterback every time, especially down there in the red area where it seems to come up."

QUOTABLE

"I truly think Chase is going to be a head coach in this league at some point in time." – Giants special teams coordinator Thomas McGaughey on his Carolina counterpart, former assistant, and former Giants linebacker Chase Blackburn

FANTASY PLAY

DJ Moore, Panthers WR: The Panthers’ passing game has struggled a bit with Christian McCaffrey out, but look for that to change against a Giants defense that has allowed the fourth-most fantasy points to WRs this season. Moore has been held scoreless in his last two outings but still is averaging 10.5 targets per game and is seeing 28.1% of the Panthers’ target share. -- Nick Klopsis
