Double duty for defense

ALBANY - The Giants are so depleted at tight end that in the last few practices, they have had to draft some defensive players to the other side of the ball. DE Dave Tollefson, LB Adrian Tracy and a few others have been called upon to wear white pinnies, throw some blocks and even run some routes. Tracy made a nice over-the-shoulder catch on a deep pass from Rhett Bomar on Friday evening.

The switcheroo might even carry over into Monday night's game. Kevin Boss, sidelined with a hamstring injury, has been working with his buddy Tollefson on some techniques and said he believes Tollefson could be used against the Jets.

"I'm excited to see Dave out there," Boss said. "He'll do all right. He's been blocked by tight ends all his life, so I think he'll figure it out."
