Michael Strahan a finalist for Hall of Fame again

Former Giants All-Pro defensive end Michael Strahan is a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame for the second straight year. Strahan joins 12 other players, former coach Tony Dungy and former 49ers owner Ed DeBartolo as finalists for the sport's most coveted individual honor.

The Class of 2014 will be named on Feb. 1, the day before Super Bowl XLVIII at MetLife Stadium. If Strahan is selected, he will be feted at halftime of the Super Bowl in front of many of the same fans who cheered for him during his illustrious career with the Giants.

Strahan has the Giants' all-time sack record with 1411/2 in his 15-year career (1993-2007). He also set the NFL single-season record with 221/2 sacks during the 2001 season.

Others selected as finalists: kicker Morten Andersen, running back Jerome Bettis, linebacker Derrick Brooks, wide receiver Tim Brown, linebacker Kevin Greene, defensive end/linebacker Charles Haley, wide receiver Marvin Harrison, tackle Walter Jones, safety John Lynch, wide receiver Andre Reed, guard Will Shields and cornerback Aeneas Williams.
