Kenrick Ellis' free agency may not be taking him very far at all.
The former Jets nose tackle spent Tuesday visiting with the Giants, according to a source.
While the Giants do not run a 3-4 defense that uses a nose tackle, Ellis, listed at 346 pounds, could add stoutness in the middle of their 4-3 defensive line in running situations. He'd likely play a similar role to what Mike Patterson played in the last two seasons. Patterson is a free agent as well.
Ellis was a third-round pick of the Jets in 2011. He played behind starter Damon Harrison last season and had 12 tackles and a sack in 14 games. He started five games in his four seasons with the Jets.
