Spencer Paysinger excited to see how team responds, calls for a 'rebirth'
Spencer Paysinger is curious to see what becomes of the 2013 Giants.
“I myself, and I know a bunch of guys on the team, we’ve never been on an 0-3 team,” the linebacker said. “I know it sounds crazy, but it’s kind of exciting to see what we’re made of. We’ve got 13 more games and we can’t hang our hats. We have to go out there and pretty much have a rebirth.”
Paysinger said he understands that opposing teams are now circling the Giants game on their schedules.
“One of the toughest things about being 0-3 is everybody is going to come after you,” he said. “Everybody is going to say ‘Oh, this team is an easy win, they haven’t been playing in sync, we can get after their offense, we can frustrate their defense, we can convert whatever we want whenever we want.’ No team is going be light on us. We can’t be light on ourselves. If we’re light on ourselves we’re doing our city and our fans an injustice.”
The Giants don’t have much time to fix all of their problems. Paysinger said he understands that. But he’s still excited to see what comes out the other side of this 0-3 start.
“It’s as real as it can be right now,” he said. “Obviously as a team, the media and fans will question our pride, question what type of team we are. This is going to be a great week for us to see what type of team comes out of this week.”
