The first time Odell Beckham Jr. met Hakeem Nicks, they had to see how they measured up to each other.

"I had to put my hand up to his," Beckham said of the meeting between the two Giants first-round picks that occurred earlier this week. "I was like, 'You know, we've got to kill the awkwardness and see what's going on.' That's kind of how we broke the ice and we've been cool ever since he's been here."

Beckham and Nicks are both known for their extraordinarily large hands, which come in, um, well, handy for a wide receiver. So who won?

"It's pretty much the same," Beckham said. "His may be a little bigger, I don't know, I couldn't remember. We were kind of just like: 'Real quick, alright.'"

Beckham obviously knows Nicks' place in Giants lore as one of the key contributors to the 2011 Super Bowl team. And while he was kinda-sorta drafted in 2014 to replace Nicks, who left in free agency, he's glad to now be joining forces with him.

"He knows what's going on, he knows how to win," Beckham said. "From what I've seen, he's been great and he always will be great."

Still, there is a line that can't be crossed between two competitive people. Someone asked Beckham if Nicks asked to borrow his oversized receiver gloves.

"No," Beckham said, "he can't fit in my gloves. He can't wear that."
