Bryan Thomas re-signs, just getting over being cut

Asked how he felt when he was let go on Saturday, 11-year Jets DE Bryan Thomas had just one word:
"Pissed," he said. "Pissed. Ain't no other word for it. I was mad."
But Thomas was gone roughly 48 hours, having been re-signed today after the Jets waived Marcus Dixon. Thomas said GM Mike Tannenbaum told him on Saturday that the team wanted him back, but he still wasn't sure it would happen.
"You never know how things are going to work out," Thomas said. "They told me Saturday they had to make a move for the better of the team, but that they wanted me back. I wasn't sure -- today this week, whenever. I didn't know. But this is a business, we've moved on and now it's about getting ready to play."
Thomas hasn't done that since injuring his hamstring in the opener against the Bills, but he said his injury is improving and he hopes to be ready to practice on Wednesday and play against the 49ers on Sunday.
And then not go anywhere for a while.
"I've been a Jet for 11 years. I love this organization," Thomas said. "I want to retire as a Jet."
