Coples to see more playing time, says Rex

It’s been a relatively quiet three weeks for rookie DE Quinton Coples. He’s registered four tackles, but has been virtually invisible in the pass rush.
(Then again, that shouldn’t be surprising since the Jets’ pass rush is nonexistent – save for OLB Garrett McIntyre’s efforts at Heinz Field.)
Ryan said Coples had his best day of practice Wednesday and expects the rookie’s snap counts to increase. "I'm sure his playing time will go up, it's gonna increase," said the Jets coach. ...Yesterday after practice I had him break us down, so I think he's ready to go. I think we'll see a lot more of him."
According to Pro Football Focus, the Jets' No. 1 draft pick was involved on just 16 defensive plays – five running and 11 rushing plays – in Miami. In Week 1 against Buffalo, he was involved on 32 (18 running, 13 rushing).
Though the Jets had Coples take reps at the outside linebacker spot, Ryan said he plans to keep the rookie in his defensive end/defensive tackle role.
