Eric Smith doesn't think knee, hip injuries are serious
Eric Smith walked gingerly around the visitor's locker room in Cincinnati, clearly hobbled by his left leg.
But the Jets safety still managed to crack a few smiles as he spoke to reporters after Friday night's 17-6 loss to the Bengals.
"I don't think it's anything too serious," said Smith, who is day-to-day after injuring his knee and hip on a second-quarter special-teams play. "We'll get it diagnosed tomorrow . . . and see where we go from there."
Smith -- who primarily played with the second-team defense and was with the starters in sub packages -- said his left leg "kind of got rolled up" when he tried to make a tackle on a Cincinnati punt return.
"I don't really know [what happened]," said Smith, who was tended to by trainers on the field for several minutes.
