Terrance Ganaway sat at a bar -- the one place he never goes -- trying to clear his head.

The rookie running back had accomplished Thursday what no other Jet player had this preseason. But by the next night, he was waived. Ganaway, one of three draft picks cut by Friday night's 53-man roster deadline, sat in a local New Jersey bar with another released player.

"I never go out, and I don't drink," Ganaway said, per The St. Louis Post-Dispath. "But we went to the bar and we just watched the Philadelphia-Jets game, which was on replay. And the bartender asked us: Were we Jets fans?

"It was like we're nobodies. I was like, 'Man, we're absolutely no one.' It was just a long 24 hours."

As Jets fans know all too well, it was Ganaway who had scored the lone touchdown of the preseason for the Jets -- albeit it in a 28-10 loss to the Eagles. But Ganaway didn't feel the need to share that tidbit to the bartender.

"It is what it is," Ganaway told the newspaper. "I'm not going to be known by everyone, so I wasn't too picky about it."

The running back said he was en route to the Jets practice earlier in the day Friday to sign his practice squad contract. But he decided to check in with his agent -- and that's when he got the news that he had been claimed by the Rams.

"He said, 'Glad you called. You actually just got claimed,'" Ganaway said.
