As I was working on my matchups for Sunday's Jets-Dolphins game, I was reminded of how well the Jets have fared when Shonn Greene has one of his breakout days. The team is 5-0 (including a playoff win over Cincinnati during the 2009 season) when the running back hits the 100+ plateau:

144 yards vs. OAK on 10/20/09
135 yards vs. CIN on 1/9/10 (playoffs)
117 yards vs. BUF on 10/3/10
112 yards vs. SD on 10/23/11
129 yards vs. KC on 12/11/11

The Jets featured back just missed the century mark in the Jets' Week 1 bashing of the Bills, rushing for 94 yards.

Greene took a hard helmet hit during their loss to Pittsburgh last week, but Rex Ryan said it wouldn't make sense for the Jets running back to change his physical running style.

"He's a guy that gets low and tries to get underneath guys and is a power runner," the coach said. "I think if he was trying to be like Reggie Bush or somebody like that, it's not going to work well for him. He has his style of running and I don't know if you can change that a whole lot."
