Holdout Haason Reddick's new agents to meet with Jets on Monday

Haason Reddick’s holdout from the Jets could be ending soon.
The Pro Bowl pass rusher has hired Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha as his new agents. Rosenhaus confirmed in a text message that he will meet with the Jets before Monday night’s game against the Bills and begin the process of resolving the situation.
“We look forward to working with the Jets to get this resolved as soon as possible,” Rosenhaus said. “Haason would like to be a New York Jet for years to come and our goal is to make that happen.”
It’s been a wild ride with seemingly no end in sight until now.
The Jets acquired Reddick in March from Philadelphia for a conditional 2026 third-round pick. Reddick came in for his physical and introductory news conference on April 1, but he hasn’t been in the Jets’ building since.
Reddick was due to make $14.25 million in the final year of his contract. He sought a reworked or new deal from the Jets that would make him one of the highest-paid edge rushers in the NFL. Reddick’s 50.5 sacks over the previous four seasons are the fourth-most in the NFL in that time. The Jets thought they had a deal in place, but Reddick didn’t accept it.
Jets general manager Joe Douglas said he would not negotiate a new contract with Reddick until he showed up for work. The Jets wanted to see commitment from Reddick before they committed to him.
The Jets placed Reddick on the Non-Football Injury List on the second day of training camp. He requested a trade, but Douglas said he would not move him.
Reddick was dropped by his agency, CAA, last week. His holdout has cost him about $10 million in fines and lost wages thus far.
If Reddick doesn’t report by Week 13, his contract would toll and he would remain under contract with the Jets next year.
The Jets have said throughout this process that they would welcome Reddick whenever he decides to show up.
Jets owner Woody Johnson, during his conference call with reporters last Tuesday after firing Robert Saleh and replacing him with Jeff Ulbrich, made a plea to Reddick join the Jets.
“I hope that the young man can come to the team,” Johnson said. “We’d like to have Haason here. We’d welcome him with open arms. I will extend that. I haven’t talked to Jeff but I think he would feel exactly the same way. When he gets here, he’ll find a very welcome locker room and he’ll be able to fit right in but he’s got to get here first.
“Haason, get in your car, drive down 95 and come to the New York Jets,” Johnson added. “We can meet you and get you an escort right in the building and you’ll fit right in. You’re going to love it here and you’ll feel welcome and you’re going to accomplish great things with us.”
The two sides appear to be closer now.
