Jamal Adams wants payback against Bills

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – The Jets have moved on from Sunday’s last-minute loss to the Titans, but Jamal Adams is still stinging from the beating Buffalo put on them a few weeks ago.
The second-year safety wants revenge this weekend.
“It’s personal,” Adams said.
The Bills came into MetLife Stadium on Nov. 11 and hung 41 points on the Jets. It was their worst loss of the season, a 31-point crushing that put Todd Bowles on the hot seat.
One game won’t save Bowles’ job, but Adams said the Jets’ defense is going to Buffalo with a chip on its shoulder.
“They came in and they whooped us,” Adams said. “They don’t like us. We don’t like them. It’s going to be a tough battle.
“It’s a divisional opponent. We just go at it each time we see each other. It was personal. They came in and put up about like 40 points on us. As a defense we got to come out there and do the right thing so that doesn’t happen again.”
The Jets (3-9) have lost six straight games, with the defense as much to the blame as the offense.
The Bills have one of the worst offenses in the NFL – worse than the Jets. Yet Buffalo, with quarterback Matt Barkley, who was signed days earlier because of injuries at the position, racked up season highs in total yards (451), rushing yards (212) and points that day.
Rookie quarterback Josh Allen is back for Buffalo and is proving to be a dual threat. The Jets will try to slow Allen, who has rushed for 234 yards and a touchdown the past two games, while remembering what happened last time.
“We flat-out didn’t come up to play,” Adams said. “They came to play. They punched us in the mouth.
“If I lose, period, it’s personal. Everybody treats it like that. It’s not I want to fight them or anything. It’s personal.”
Notes & quotes: Safety Marcus Maye had shoulder surgery, and Bowles said Maye will be sidelined “a couple months.” … LB Josh Martin, who was placed on injured reserve with a concussion in October, was back at practice Wednesday. Martin is designated to return from IR, but it remains to be seen whether he’ll play again this season. He suffered two concussions in a five-week stretch this season. Martin played only in the Week 4 loss to Jacksonville … RB Isaiah Crowell (toe) and OL Spencer Long (knee/finger/illness) did not practice.
