FLORHAM PARK, N.J. – Jets interim coach Jeff Ulbrich anticipates Haason Reddick playing Sunday against the Patriots.

Reddick ended his lengthy holdout Monday and reported to the Jets’ facility for the first time since he took his physical on April 1. Reddick went full speed in individual drills in Wednesday’s walk-through and will practice for the first time on Thursday.

“If he’s ready we’re going to roll because obviously we need him,” Ulbrich said. “He’s a huge part of the success that we will have on defense. Everything he said to me is he’s been conditioning. He’s been working. And not just the conditioning, he’s been doing football stuff. I’m excited to see where he’s at.”

Aaron Rodgers said he’s glad Reddick finally joined the Jets.

“We’re just going to put our arms around him and embrace him and hope that he can help us out this Sunday,” Rodgers said.

Rodgers new injury

Add a hamstring issue to Rodgers’ list of ailments. It flared up in Sunday’s loss in Pittsburgh. Rodgers already has been hampered by ankle and knee issues. Rodgers was limited in Wednesday’s walk through but he expects to play Sunday.

Newman on IR

Guard Xavier Newman was placed on injured reserve because of the neck injury he suffered in Sunday’s loss to the Steelers. Newman left the field strapped to a backboard and was brought to a Pittsburgh-area hospital for evaluation. He flew home with the team and is feeling much better.

“He’s doing well,” Ulbrich said. “He’s going to need some weeks to recover and get better. But as scary as that [was], thank the Lord that he’s come out on the other side of this thing and he’s in a good place.

“It was a scary, scary moment in the game. Those are the reasons that these connections within our team are so strong and the guys just felt so bad for him and then to find him on the plane after the game is just an amazing blessing.”

More injury news

Cornerback D.J. Reed (groin) was a full participant Wednesday after missing the last game. He’s expected to play Sunday. Nickelback Michael Carter II (back) was limited. He could return after a two-game absence.

Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle), Allen Lazard (chest), Tony Adams (hamstring), Ashtyn Davis (concussion protocol) and defensive tackle Leki Fotu (knee) did not practice.

Roster moves

The Jets signed safety Jalen Mills to the active roster. He started Sunday after being elevated from the practice squad and had eight tackles and a pass defensed. … The Jets opened the 21-day window for tight end Kenny Yeboah (abdomen) to be activated from IR.
