WARE, England – Garrett Wilson sounded more open to giving up targets to Davante Adams than he was willing to discuss why his targets are low.

Much has been made this week about Wilson and Aaron Rodgers not being on the same page. Wilson has only 20 catches for 191 yards and one touchdown through four games. This is not the start anyone expected from Wilson, who had no answers as to why.

“We’re going to figure it out,” Wilson said following Jets practice. “We’re going to get down to it and make sure we finish better than we started. That’s what matters.”

It’s been an interesting week for the Jets with plenty of talk and speculation about relationships.

Robert Saleh’s relationship with Rodgers has come into question after a misunderstanding about the quarterback’s cadence. Rodgers and Wilson have yet to connect in a big way on the field. Rodgers’ relationship with Adams is why the Jets are considered the frontrunners to land the six-time Pro Bowl receiver. Wilson likes the sound of that move.

“It’d be cool,” Wilson said. “I feel like it’s cool if we could get him over here. I always say if someone can help us, let’s do it. So right on.”

As for why he and Rodgers aren’t clicking, Wilson was evasive.

“I feel like we always have good weeks of practice,” Wilson said. “Now it’s just about translating it to Sunday. Hopefully this is the week it all clicks.”

The Jets (2-2) play the undefeated Vikings on Sunday at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. It wouldn’t be surprising if the Jets try to get Wilson involved early. That’s the plan most games, but they don’t sustain it.

Rodgers’ second pass attempt in last week’s loss to Denver was to Wilson, who fumbled. Rodgers threw 19 passes before Wilson was targeted again. He finished with five catches for 41 yards.

“I plan to do a lot of things differently than last week, a whole lot,” Wilson said. “It’s time to go do it now.”

Wilson had 178 receptions for 2,145 yards his first two seasons catching passes from six quarterbacks not named Rodgers. This season, he hasn’t had more than 60 yards receiving in a game.

It was clear last week that he and Rodgers weren’t seeing things the same way. Saleh said the two are “working through some kinks.” Rodgers said it’s all in the “details” and that they’re trying to talk through everything.

“Conversations we have our important,” Rodgers said. “Me seeing the game through his eyes, him seeing the game through my eyes. Just going out there and executing. I don’t think it’s big changes. Things are close. One of these weeks we’ll put it all together.”

Rodgers also said mistakes help them grow and develop a better understanding of where to be on the field. In the Denver loss, he threw a pass late in the game to Wilson, and he wasn’t even looking. Rodgers threw it to a spot. Wilson turned and raced upfield based on the coverage.

“There’s been mistakes and not on the same page throughout training camp and the first four weeks and those are the best teachers for us,” Rodgers said. “We’ve got to harness those thoughts whether it’s on a Wednesday practice or a game to be able to remember those things in the moment and make the proper responses.”

Wilson garnered attention earlier in the week when he sounded frustrated during a radio appearance. He said offensively the Jets “don’t do a lot of different stuff.” Wilson said he could have answered the question “a better way.”

“I’m going to do my job,” Wilson said. “All that stuff is out of my control. So I’m just going to play ball and do what I love. I’m blessed.”

Right guard Alijah Vera-Tucker (ankle) practiced fully after popping up on Thursday’s injury report as limited . . . Linebacker C.J. Mosley (toe) will likely miss his third straight game. Saleh said Mosley playing is “probably a stretch, but we’re not going to rule him out quite yet.” . . . Veteran center Connor McGovern was signed to the Saints active roster off of the Jets’ practice squad.
