Jets sign linebacker Jordan Jenkins, their third-round pick
And then there was one.
With Friday’s signing of third-round draft pick Jordan Jenkins, the Jets have one last rookie to get under contract: their first-rounder Darron Lee.
The former Ohio State linebacker was selected 20th overall last month and is one of the headliners of the Jets’ six-player draft class.
Jenkins, an outside linebacker, inked a four-year deal worth a little more than $3 million, per the wage scale of the current collective bargaining agreement. The former Georgia Bulldog recorded 59 tackles last season, along with eight tackles for loss and five sacks.
On Thursday, the Jets announced second-round quarterback Christian Hackenberg signed his deal (four years, roughly $4.7 million), as well as seventh-round receiver Charone Peake.
Last week, the team signed cornerback Juston Burris (fourth round), offensive tackle Brandon Shell (fifth) and punter Lachlan Edwards (seventh).
