Joe McKnight posts Twitter rant after confusing fan with a reporter
CORTLAND – Shortly after getting carted off the practice field, Joe McKnight was venting his frustration on Twitter.
“Now I'm trying to keep my cool but now it has gone too far with these reporters,” he tweeted Monday, after he was given oxygen and driven to the Jets' locker room. “Just let y'all know I'm not the one. I know who you are.”
“I don't care anymore,” he wrote. “Now I'm getting into that.”
The Jets' running back/kick returner struggled to make it to practice, and only spent a few minutes on the field before he had to be helped off the field with help from trainers.
But McKnight clearly was well enough to check his phone.
His Twitter rant about reporters was actually in response to a Jets fan (@bleedgreenjetz) who tweeted: “@Joejetlife about time you get released. Good luck. And stay healthy.”
McKnight then replied to the fan, saying: “are you outside”
A Jets spokesman later confirmed the Twitter account was in fact McKnight’s, but the player thought a Jets writer had sent him the derisive tweet.
