MetLife Stadium installs metal detectors at all gates

In an effort to make safety practices more efficient, walk-through metal detectors have been installed at all gates at MetLife Stadium for upcoming events, including preseason and regular-season home games for the Jets and Giants.
The walk-through magnetometers will replace the handheld wands previously used by stadium security.
"The safety and security of our guests has always been our utmost priority," MetLife Stadium director of security and safety services Daniel DeLorenzi said in a news release. "The addition of walk-through magnetometers is part of the progression of stadium security and adds to our already robust public safety and security procedures. We continue to look for ways to provide a world-class experience for all guests attending events at MetLife Stadium."
Unlike with airport screening devices, patrons of MetLife Stadium will not need to remove their shoes, belts, watches, jewelry or coins from their pockets. However, cellphones, cameras and keys will need to be placed on the security table before walking through the metal detector.
The stadium's bag policy, which can be downloaded on their website, remains in place.
The NFL Committee on Stadium Security mandated in May that all NFL stadiums install walk-through metal detectors within the next two years.
