The Jets haven't confirmed anything, but Nick Folk has beaten out Josh Brown in the team's kicking competition.

The first roster cut deadline isn't until 4 p.m. Monday, but Brown tweeted this at 9:53 a.m.: "Best of luck to the 2012 Jets... Thanks for one of the most memorable camps in 10 yrs."

Folk's agent later confirmed that his client has retained his kicking job with the Jets for the third straight season.

Rex Ryan refused to tip his hand in recent weeks regarding the kicking competition.

"Both guys are going to kick, there’s no doubt," he said Friday. "Both of them will be kicking in this league. They’ve been tremendous. It’s just when we’re comfortable making the decision on if it’s this player or that player, then we’ll do it. Right now the competition is amazing and it’s very close."

The Jets' only points in Sunday night's 17-12 loss to Carolina came on four field goals. Folk connected from 22, 30 and 46 yards. Brown hit a 34-yarder but was wide left on a 45-yarder following a false start penalty on Kenrick Ellis that put the Jets on Carolina's 27.
