Source: Landry's brother, Dawan, visits Jets Wednesday

When LaRon Landry was searching for a new team before the 2012 season, his brother Dawan told him it was a no-brainer: LaRon had to play for Rex Ryan.
Dawan spent five years in Baltimore playing for Ryan and Dennis Thurman, and knew LaRon would fit right in with Rex’s physical defense.
Fast forward one year and the Landry brothers have switched places – LaRon is no longer looking for work, having signed a four-year, $24-million deal with the Colts, while Dawan is currently unemployed.
But if all goes right Wednesday, Ryan could be reunited with his former player.
Dawan – who was released from the Jaguars earlier this month – visited the Jets, a source confirmed to Newsday. The news was first reported by NFL Network.
The safety recorded 100 tackles, two passes defensed and an interception in 2012.
With the departure of LaRon, fellow free-agent safety Yeremiah Bell and the release of Eric Smith, the Jets are in the market for two starting safeties.
Ryan is high on both Landry boys, evidenced by the coach's comments prior to the Jets' Week 14 road-game in Jacksonville.
"I think Dawan Landry is one of the most underrated guys in this league," Ryan said back in December. "He’s a young man that I had at Baltimore and, as everybody I’m sure knows, the brother of LaRon. Two different personalities, to say the least, and they play the exact same position and all that stuff. I’ve had both of them.
"They are so different and it’s just amazing how they play the same position and they’re brothers and all that, but their personalities are so different. And their games are a little different. But he’s doing a great job out there. I think he’s definitely an impact player for them as LaRon is for us."
