It’s easy to see why Jets players call Tony Sparano a “no-nonsense” kind of guy.

The Jets new offensive coordinator remained tight-lipped about his plans for Tim Tebow, refusing to tip his hand on how a Tebow-led Wildcat package fits into his system, if at all.

“I won’t give you the vision on what I think his role will be in the offense,” Sparano said bluntly during a Thursday afternoon conference call, his first interview with the local media since January.

“But I would just say that, to the best of my knowledge, I believe what Coach (Rex Ryan) said is he can play anywhere from one to 20 snaps, or somewhere like that. And I would say, that what Coach said is 100 percent correct. As far as how we’ll use Tim or what we’ll do with Tim that way, we’re going to keep that to us right now.”

The goal, said the former Dolphins head coach, is to develop Tebow as a quarterback, but anything and everything appears to be on the table when it comes to their unorthodox QB. Running back, fullback and H-back are all positions that are “on the table” for Tebow, the offensive coordinator said.

But surprisingly, he was rather noncommittal about utilizing Tebow in the Wildcat.

Asked how Tebow and the Wildcat would be used differently with the Jets compared to the Dolphins during his tenure, Sparano began by saying: “If that’s the direction that we go...”

("If"????)

“Whether we run Wildcat, or a version of, or something, hey, I’m not going to tie myself down to one thing,” Sparano explained.

Whether it's one or 20 snaps, the offensive coordinator isn't worried Tebow's presence on the field will disrupt Sanchez's growth.

"I’m not concerned about that, no," Sparano said. "...Mark’s been under center here for a lot of games for the three years that he’s been here. I think that between now and training camp, and through training camp, all the snaps that Mark will get, I think we’ll be in good shape.”
