Back to work

After taking six days off to get recharged during their bye week, the Jets know they won't get another break until their season is officially over in January or February. But they resume things tied with Pittsburgh and New England for the NFL's best record at 5-1.

"It's encouraging but we are not going to kid ourselves," tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson said. "We have a lot more games to play, so every week is going to be a fight to get to the top."

Seeing Green

For the second straight game, the Jets face one of the league's top aerial attacks. The Packers are ranked eighth in passing at 250 yards per game. QB Aaron Rodgers' 1,841 yards have him fifth in the NFL and his 12 TDs are tied for fifth. "We have a heck of a test right here with Green Bay coming into town," Rex Ryan said. "One of the best offenses in football, but we'll welcome that challenge. Right now, I think with the people we have on defense, we don't have any excuses."

Hitting the sacks

The Jets are relishing the challenge of trying to keep Mark Sanchez upright against the Packers' defensive front. Green Bay is fourth in the league with 22 sacks and LB Clay Matthews' 81/2 sacks are tops.

"Sacks are a big part of the game, but they don't tell the whole picture," Ryan said. "They do a great job rushing the passer . . . It's going to be a great matchup because I think we can protect the quarterback as well as any team in the league."
