Browns quarterback Johnny Manziel remains in a rehab facility for an undisclosed condition.

Manziel entered an Ohio facility on Jan. 28, and coach Mike Pettine said Monday the 2012 Heisman Trophy winner is still being treated. Pettine said there has been communication with Manziel, whose turbulent rookie season was followed by his entering rehab.

Pettine does not know when Manziel will be discharged. Pettine reiterated that the "football for us is an afterthought" to Manziel getting well.

Pettine is encouraged that Manziel has had a lengthy stay to receive help. Pettine is also confident Manziel will be a better quarterback and will be helped by Cleveland's new coaching additions.

As the Browns wait for Manziel, Pettine said he would be comfortable with newly signed veteran quarterback Josh McCown as the starter next season. McCown went 1-10 as a starter in 2014 for Tampa Bay.
