62: Patriots: Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida Once considered a first-round talent, that all evaporated with a 5.06 40-time. Pats hoping he can reinvigorate a defense in need of a major upgrade.
61: Jets: Vladimir Ducasse, T, Massachusetts: A very wide wingspan for this small-school star, who might be the successor to right tackle Damien Woody or possibly guard Alan Faneca. At 6-4, 332, a very talented player, if a bit raw.
60: Seahawks: Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame. Sorry, Jets fans. Seahawks needed him more, especially after failing to land Brandon Marshall.
59: Browns: Montario Hardesty, RB, Tennessee. So much for Mike Holmgren going for quarterback Colt McCoy. In a trade-up with Iggles, he takes a player he hopes will replace Jamal Lewis.
58: Texans: Ben Tate, RB, Auburn. Texans trade up to get a running back who joins Steve Slaton in the backfield. A major need here.
57: Ravens: Terrence Cody, DT, Alabama. Great value here for a guy some thought would go in the first round.
56: Mike Neal, DT, Purdue. The 8th defensive tackle to be taken in what had been widely considered a deep draft along the line.
55: Cowboys: Sean Lee, LB, Penn State. Cowboys move up in rare NFC East trade with Iggles. Add depth at linebacker. Iggles got 4th round pick in the deal.
54: Bengals: Carlos Dunlap, DE, Florida. Very talented player, but has a reptuation of being an underachiever. Also some off-field issues.
53: Patriots: Jermaine Cunningham, DE/OLB, Florida. Pats desperately needed to upgrade the pass rush.
52: Steelers: Jason Worilds, DE, Virginia Tech. Another pass rusher to join James Harrison.
51. Vikings: Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford. Bruising running back fills in for Chester Taylor, who left as a free agent for Chicago.
50: Chiefs: Javier Arenas, CB, Alabama. Chiefs add a second player to a defensive secondary in need of it.
49: 49ers: Taylor Mays, S, USC. Very physical safety but not a big playmaker.
48: Panthers: Jimmy Clausen, QB, Notre Dame: And the long, national nightmare is over. Clausen finally makes it to an NFL team after falling through the first round. Matt Moore now has competition ... or maybe he just lost his job.
47: Cardinals: Darrell Washington, LB, TCU. Cardinals continue restocking defense after experiencing heavy free agent losses.
45: Broncos. Zane Beadles, T,
43. Ravens: Sergio Kingle, OLB, Texas. Joins a linebacking crew that includes Ray Lewis.
Pick No. 10 (42nd overall): Oakland (from Tampa Bay): DID THAT JUST HAPPEN??? Oakland "passed" on its pick! Reporters are shaking their heads in disbelief right now. ...Wow. ....OK, so here's the deal: Oakland traded its 42nd pick to New England, which selected TE Rob Gronkowski.
Man, that was confusing.
(still no Clausen...or Colt McCoy for that matter...they're losing millions as we speak.)

Pick No. 6 (38th overall): Cleveland: DB T.J. Ward (Oregon): His medical issues aren't that big of a gamble it seems.
Pick No. 5 (37th overall): Philly: DB Nate Allen (South Florida)
Pick No. 4 (36th overall): Kansas City: Dexter McCluster (Ole Miss) Here's a question...how will McCluster's versatility affect LeSean McCoy?
(Jimmy Clausen can't be liking this...So far, three names have been announced an none of them have been his.)
Pick No. 3 (35th overall): Tampa Bay: DT Brian Price (UCLA) The 6-1, 303-pound Price was the 2009 Pac-10 defensive Player of the Year and a third-team All-American.
Pick No. 2 (34th overall): Minnesota (from Detroit): DB Chris Cook. The Virginia CB's stock considerably went up after he ran a 4.46 40-yard dash at the combine.
Obviously the reports about a trade between Cleveland and St. Louis didn't happen. The Rams kept their first pick and selected OT Roger Saffold of Oklahoma. The 6-5, 316-pounder, who'll be reunited with QB Sam Bradford, will likely play guard.
