Wilson was also suspended for the 1985 and 1987 seasons for substance abuse.

Life
Suspended for substance abuse on Dec. 21, 1991.
Manley was also suspended for life in 1989 for substance abuse, but was reinstated after one year.

Indefinitely
Suspended for substance abuse on July 26, 2004. Never appeared in another NFL game.
Russell was also suspended for 1 1/2 years from 2002-03 for substance abuse.

Indefinitely
Suspended for substance abuse on June 8, 2001. The suspension was upheld, through the season, and Soward was never removed from the NFL's reserved/suspended list.

Suspended for four games for substance abuse at the start of the 2006. Suspension extended through the end of the season in connection with a drunk driving charge. Suspension again extended another year when Roger Goodell rejected his application for reinstatement in 2007.
