Mill River pro Jason Caron tied for lead at Senior PGA
Mill River pro Jason Caron is tied for the lead after three rounds of the Senior PGA Championship at the Congressional Country Club at Bethesda, Maryland.
With wife Liz, also a pro at Mill River, daughters Caroline and Julia and friends rooting him on, Caron shot a one-under-par 71 and is five under for the tournament, tied with major tournament winners Retief Goosen and Angel Cabrera, and Phillip Archer.
Caron offset three bogeys with four birdies and a deft up and down for par with a long greenside bunker shot on the 18th.
It was a year ago at the Senior PGA Championship that Caron, playing in his first senior event, finished tied for fourth and eventually earned full status on the Champions Tour for 2025.
"I have all my family and friends out here so it keeps me loose," said Caron. "It's been an amazing run [since the last year's Senior PGA.]"
