Meet Newsday's All-Long Island girls badminton first team for the 2017 spring season.

Long Island Player of the Year: Courtney Kowalsky, Oyster Bay, Sr.

Kowalsky won the Nassau singles championship, defeating Jericho's Jia Zhang 21-16, 21-18 to cap a 17-0 season. She will be attending Brown University.

Sophia Castellano, Lindenhurst, Jr.

Castellano won the Suffolk singles championship, defeating Smithtown East's Jill Pesce 11-3, 11-9, en route to a 16-2 season.

Jia Zhang, Jericho, Sr.

Zhang finished the season 10-0 and returned to her third consecutive final, falling to Kowalsky.
