High school sports roundup: Baseball, softball and lacrosse

Delilah Cummings hit a walk-off two-run double in the bottom of the seventh inning, leading Sayville softball to a 12-11 win over Smithtown West on Saturday in non-league. Cummings finished 4-for-5 with two doubles, four RBIs and three runs. Victoria Elderbaum earned the win in relief for Sayville (4-1), striking out four in three innings. She had an RBI-double. Kate Meyer went 3-for-3 with two RBIs and a run.
Victoria Lisena went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs for Smithtown West (2-2).
Friday’s game
St. Dominic 19, St. Mary’s 12: Ashley Becker struck out 11 in four innings, allowing zero hits and one earned run to lead St. Dominic (1-2) to its first win in over five years, according to athletic director Chris Mueller. Becker hit a three-run home run as well as two doubles, finishing with seven RBIs.
BASEBALL
Bellmore JFK 3, East Meadow 2: Cenzo Caravello struck out five in a five-inning game to lead Bellmore JFK (2-2) in non-league. Derek Yormack went 3-for-4 and Frankie Stella went 3-for-3 with two RBIs.
BOYS LACROSSE
Glenn 17, Hauppauge 12: Cole Madden scored 10 goals, including eight in the first half, and won nine faceoffs for Glenn (2-0) in Suffolk II. Grayden Aebisher scored a goal and had 10 assists. Matt Triolo had six goals and four assists. Gavin O’Brien scored four goals for Hauppauge (2-2).
Kellenberg 8, Fairfield-Ludlowe 7: Dylan Roberts scored the winner with 2:09 left in the game to lead Kellenberg (3-2) in non-league. Roberts had two goals, and Donovan O’Toole posted two goals and two assists.
GIRLS LACROSSE
Friday’s game
Hewlett 20, Glen Cove 19: Claudia Lee assisted sister Krista’s winner in overtime for Hewlett (1-3) in Nassau III. Krista Lee finished with six goals and four assists and Claudia picked up two goals and three assists. Kristina O’Rourke scored 11 goals and added one assist. Claire O’Brien and Bryanna Rothwell each had seven goals and five assists for Glen Cove (2-2).
