Diamond Stars: Top performances in Long Island baseball and softball

There was no shortage of clutch performances on the diamond this week. A look at the softball and baseball players who stood out.
SOFTBALL
Josie Alfano, Mount Sinai: Alfano hit a walk-off three-run home run in an 8-7 win over Kings Park on Thursday. The senior went 2-for-3 with two homers, five RBIs and three runs.
Kamila DeJesus, Lynbrook: DeJesus went 4-for-4 with four doubles, three runs and a stolen base in an 11-9 win over South Side.
Isabella Holland, Huntington: Holland went 4-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs in a 10-4 win over Newfield.
Kaitlyn Larmann, Kellenberg: Larmann totaled five hits, including two doubles and a triple, six RBIs and four runs in wins over East Islip and Toms River South (NJ).
Mya Marelli, Riverhead: Marelli struck out 14 in a complete game 2-0 win over Longwood. She went 4-for-4 with 4 RBIs in a 16-4 win over Brentwood.
Kate Meyer, Sayville: Meyer hit a double, triple, a home run and had three RBIs in a 10-2 win over Hampton Bays.
Marissa Nosovitch, Carle Place: Nosovitch struck out 16 and hit an RBI triple in a 7-1 win over Oceanside. She totaled 49 strikeouts in four games this week.
Allison Predmore, Syosset: Predmore had two hits, five RBIs and two runs in a 16-4 win over Glen Cove.
Kate Schweitzer, Commack: Schweitzer allowed one hit and struck out 14 in a 7-0 win over North Babylon. She struck out 11 in a five-inning no-hitter and added a home run in a 12-0 win over Huntington.
Brooke Simmons, Glen Cove: Simmons struck out 13, allowed two earned runs and went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and an RBI in a 7-6 win over MacArthur.
Savannah Speicher, Plainedge: Speicher hit two home runs, had four RBIs and struck out three and allowed three runs in 4 ⅔ innings to earn the win in a 6-3 victory over Carle Place.
Avery Stuart, Herricks: Stuart went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two RBIs in a 6-3 win over Carey.
Hailey Trapani, MacArthur: Trapani hit a walk-off single in a 3-2 win over Wantagh. She went 2-for-4 with a double, triple and a run in a 5-0 win over Bellmore JFK.
Alana Villavicencio, Deer Park: Villavicencio struck out 13 and allowed four hits in a complete game shutout 2-0 win over West Islip.
Laney Vomero, Miller Place: Vomero totaled four hits, including a double and a triple, seven RBIs and two runs in wins over Islip and Mt. Sinai.
BASEBALL
Kai Alversa, Bridgehampton/Ross: He struck out eight in a five-inning no-hitter, an 11-0 win over Southold.
Brady Ayres, North Shore: He struck out 11 in a five-inning no-hitter, a 16-0 win over Malverne. He went 4-for-5 with five RBIs.
Evan Byrnes, West Islip: He struck out nine in a two-hitter, a 6-0 win over Bellport.
Thomas Costarelli, East Islip: He struck out nine and retired the final 12 batters in a two-hitter, a 2-1 win over West Babylon.
Gavin Diegnan, Wantagh: He struck out 11 and walked none in a six-inning no-hitter, a 13-0 win over Valley Stream South.
Donovan Gilmartin, Centereach: He hit the walk-off single in a 2-1 win over Deer Park.
Chris Lonergan, MacArthur: He tossed a two-hitter and had the winning RBI in a 2-1 win over Division.
Ryan McCarey, Cold Spring Harbor: He hit a two-out, walk-off single in a 7-6 win over East Rockaway.
Mateo Morales, Farmingdale: He hit a walk-off single in the 10th inning of a 3-2 win over Port Washington.
Michael Oliveto, Hauppauge: He hit three homers in a three-game sweep of Comsewogue.
Luke Rizzi, Longwood: He hit the winning home run in the top of the seventh inning of a 1-0 win over Floyd.
Jayden Stroman, Patchogue-Medford: He struck out nine and allowed one run in five innings, earning the win in a 14-10 victory over Whitman. He went 3-for-4 with two home runs and four runs scored.
Jason Torres, New Hyde Park: He struck out nine and walked none in a two-hitter, a 1-0 win over South Side.
Logan Walsh and Ralph Betner, Eastport-South Manor: They threw a combined no-hitter in a 5-0 win over Half Hollow Hills West. Walsh struck out eight, walked five and hit a batter in 5 1/3 innings, and Betner retired five consecutive hitters for the save.
Derek Yormack, Bellmore JFK: He struck out 17 and walked two in an 89-pitch no-hitter, a 6-0 win over Long Beach.
Everett Zarzicki, Kings Park: He struck out nine in a two-hitter, a 2-0 win over Islip.
