Newsday's annual list of the top 100 Long Island high school baseball players as the season gets underway. The list is in alphabetical order and statistics are from last season unless otherwise noted.

CJ ALFANO, St. Anthony’s, 1B, Jr.

The CHSAA championship series MVP hit .298 with 10 doubles, a triple, two home runs, 27 runs and 20 RBIs. He is a West Virginia commit.

COLLIN ANDERSON, Chaminade, SS, Sr.

Anderson was a 2024 All-CHSAA selection who hit .317 and led the Flyers with 20 hits. He is a Bucknell commit.

ANDREW ASARO, Wheatley, SS/P, Sr.

He batted .419 with 26 hits and a 1.017 OPS. The New Paltz commit had a 2.10 ERA, striking out 52 in 46 innings.

BRADY AUSTIN, Smithtown West, P/CF, Sr.

Austin batted .333 with 16 RBIs, 13 walks and 14 runs. The Rowan commit went 4-2 with a 2.00 ERA, striking out 62 in 41 innings.

JASON BASIL, Glen Cove, CF/P, Sr.

He hit .362 with a .455 OBP. Basil had 18 stolen bases, five extra-base hits and 14 runs.

VAUGHN BERESFORD, Smithtown Christian, P, Jr.

He went 5-0 with a 2.06 ERA in 40 2/3 innings. Beresford had 50 strikeouts and held opponents to a .193 batting average.

JASON BERTHEL, Seaford, IF, Sr.

He batted .305 with 19 RBIs as a junior after hitting .352 as a sophomore. Berthel is committed to the University of Bridgeport.

TUCKER BROWN, Hauppauge, P/SS, Jr.

He had 26 hits, 22 runs, 17 walks and 55 putouts at shortstop. Brown also went 3-0 with a 2.42 ERA in 26 innings.

VINCENZO BUFFOLINO, Kings Park, C, Sr.

He batted .400 with 32 hits, 20 RBIs and a .461 OBP.

PHILIP BUNT, Carle Place, P/1B, Jr.

He slashed .423/.559/.558 with 17 RBIs and 19 runs scored. Bunt also went 3-2 with 30 strikeouts.

EVAN BYRNES, West Islip, P/1B, Sr.

Byrnes went 5-2 with a 1.71 ERA, striking out 52 in 53 innings. The Union College commit has a 12-3 record on varsity.

EVAN CABRAL, Garden City, P/IF, Sr.

Cabral, a 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection, hit a program-record .603 with seven doubles, four homers and 22 RBIs. The corner infielder is committed to Stony Brook.

ANTHONY CARLO, St. Anthony’s, OF Sr.

He batted .403 with a .464 OBP and 1.247 slugging percentage. The Cortland commit had 17 RBIs, six doubles, four triples, two homers, 24 runs and eight stolen bases.

ANGEL CARTAGENA, Farmingdale, C, Sr.

The Iona commit batted .399 with two home runs, four doubles and 20 RBIs.

ALEX CASEY, Half Hollow Hills West, CF, Sr.

He batted .370 with nine doubles. Casey is committed to the University of Bridgeport.

DANIEL CASEY, Valley Stream South, P/C, Jr.

He went 6-0 with a 2.53 ERA, striking out 48 in 38 1/3 innings.

LUKE COATS, St. Anthony’s, P/DH, Jr.

He went 5-1 with a save in 41 1/3 innings. The West Virginia commit struck out 54 and had a 2.20 ERA and a 1.113 WHIP.

RYAN CONIGLIARO, Wantagh, SS, Sr.

He was an All-County selection and batted .384 with eight doubles, two triples, two home runs and 26 RBIs.

KYLE COPPOLA, Deer Park, C, Sr.

He batted .344 with 22 RBIs, six doubles, a triple, a home run and 13 runs. Coppola is committed to the University of Bridgeport.

THOMAS COSTARELLI, East Islip, P/OF, Sr.

He went 4-1 with a 1.44 ERA, striking out 65 in 44 innings. The East Tennessee State commit also hit .383 with 15 RBIs and 15 runs.

JONATHAN CRUZ, Westbury, P, Jr.

He batted .565 with three home runs and 23 RBIs. Cruz also went 5-1 with a 0.68 ERA, striking out 82 in 31 innings.

AJ CUMBO, Clarke, C, Sr.

He hit .431 with a homer, 26 RBIs and 32 runs. The St. Thomas Aquinas commit had a school-record 30 stolen bases.

CHRISTIAN DANZILO, Wantagh, P/1B, Sr.

The Oneonta commit, who had a 9-2 record as a junior, will be the ace of the staff this season.

ALEX DARZANO, MacArthur, P, Sr.

He went 6-0 with a 0.75 ERA, striking out 38 in 28 innings.

MIKE DiORIO, Manhasset, P/OF, Sr.

DiOrio had a 0.00 ERA, striking out 24 in 11 innings. He will be Manhasset's ace this year.

MAX DONECEA, Northport, P, Sr.

The lefty is committed to Army. He threw a complete game shutout in the last series of the regular season to help the Tigers clinch a playoff berth.

JACK DURSO, Kellenberg, P, Sr.

The southpaw went 3-0 with a 2.10 ERA, striking out 34 in 18 innings. He is committed to Miami.

MIKE EMPAYNADO, Connetquot, 1B, Sr.

He hit .347 with 26 hits, five doubles and 14 RBIs.

MATT FARAONE, Longwood, OF, Sr.

He hit .360 with 10 RBIs, 18 runs and 13 stolen bases.

JOE FALLON, Miller Place, C, Jr.

He batted .468 with a .538 OBP, 15 RBIs and 20 runs.

MICHAEL FRANKIE, Bellport, CF/P, Sr.

Frankie, who is playing football at Wagner in the fall, batted .324.

DEREK FINE, Port Washington, 3B/OF, Sr.

He batted .397 with two doubles, a triple, 10 RBIs, 17 runs and 15 stolen bases.

NOAH FIORILLO, Wheatley, C, Sr.

He batted .355 with 22 hits, 21 RBIs and a .953 OPS. Fiorillo threw out seven attempted base stealers.

BENNIE FRANQUIZ, Mount Sinai, SS/P, Sr.

Franquiz hit .415 with a 1.070 OPS, a homer, four doubles, 10 RBIs, 15 runs and 11 stolen bases. He is committed to Army.

NICK FRUSCO, Miller Place, P/1B, Sr.

Frusco hit .452 with a 1.257 OPS, two homers, 11 doubles, 24 RBIs, 19 runs and 15 stolen bases. The Clemson commit had a 4-3 record with a 0.53 ERA in 39 1/3 innings. He struck out 81 and had .089 batting average-against.

TRISTAN GARCIA, North Babylon, OF/P, Jr.

He had a .491 OBP, 16 runs and 15 stolen bases. The lefty also went 2-1 with a 1.63 ERA, striking out 36 in 38 2/3 innings.

ANTHONY GERBASIO, West Babylon, P/UT, Sr.

He batted .478 with a 1.202 OPS, 22 hits, 19 RBIs and 12 walks. Gerbasio is a Farmingdale State commit.

JAYDEN GIGANTE, Carey, OF/SS, Jr.

The St. John's commit batted .433 with 40 hits.

JADEN GROSE, Whitman, P/1B, Jr.

He went 6-2 with a 1.67 ERA and a 0.715 WHIP in 50 1/3 innings, striking out 74. Grose also batted .364 with 18 RBIs, 28 hits and 12 runs.

THOMAS HARDING, Massapequa, P/1B, Sr.

He struck out 34 and pitched to a 0.29 ERA in 24 innings. Harding is committed to St. John’s.

JOHNNY HARKINS, Babylon, SS, Sr.

Harkins hit .411 with 18 RBIs and 18 runs. The Queens College commit went 31-for-31 on stolen base attempts.

MATTY HAYES, Long Beach, P/SS, Sr.

He slashed .361/.478/.923. The Cortland commit went 3-1 with a 1.47 ERA and a 1.099 WHIP, striking out 36 in 23 2/3 innings.

JOEY HILLER, Center Moriches, P, Sr.

Hiller was a big-game pitcher with seven wins and a 1.23 ERA. He is committed to Quinnipiac.

BRAYDEN HROMADA, Center Moriches, C, Sr.

Hromada, who has been the starting catcher since eighth grader, hit .423 as a junior. He is committed to Quinnipiac.

NICK KARRAS, Island Trees, SS, Sr.

He batted .478 with 32 hits, three home runs and nine doubles. The Southern Connecticut State commit had 26 stolen bases.

GUYTANO KIESEL, Bayport-Blue Point, C, Sr.

He batted .365 with four doubles, a home run, 10 RBIs and 22 runs. Kiesel is a Maritime commit.

FRANK KENTOFFIO, Patchogue-Medford, IF/P, Sr.

Kentoffio, entering his fourth season on varsity, batted .333 with 23 hits in 23 games as a junior.

JAKE KING, Sachem East, P/1B, Sr.

King had a 3.90 ERA in six starts, striking out 21 in 31 2/3 innings. The Iona commit also batted .240 with a .340 OBP.

AIDAN KISTNER, Babylon, P/CF, Sr.

He hit .486 with two home runs, 18 RBIs, 26 runs and had 25 stolen bases. Kistner also went 6-2 with a 1.89 ERA, striking out 67 in 48 innings.

LUKE LANG, St. Dominic, P, Sr.

He went 6-1 with a 0.75 ERA, striking out 57 in 37 innings. The Iona commit was a 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection and the NSCHSAA pitcher of the year.

NICK LANG, Valley Stream North, P/OF, Sr.

The righty had a 2.27 ERA and a 1.22 WHIP, striking out 57 in 37 innings. He will pitch at Pace University.

RYAN LANGNER, Kellenberg, OF, Sr.

Langner batted .357 with three homers and 12 RBIs. He is committed to Molloy.

RYAN LAU, North Shore, 3B, Sr.

Lau batted .340 with three doubles and 12 RBIs as a sophomore. He missed the 2024 season due to injury.

ANDREW LAW, Sayville, 1B/P, Sr.

He went 5-1 with a 2.22 ERA and a 1.20 WHIP in 34 1/3 innings, striking out 35. Law also batted .340 with 17 RBIs, three home runs and seven doubles.

JOSEPH LEFTWICH, Glen Cove, 1B/P, Jr.

Leftwich batted .471 with a home run and also struck out 15 batters in 10 innings.

DAVID LIEBERMAN, Syosset, P, Jr.

He went 7-0 with a 1.40 ERA and a 1.10 WHIP, striking out 31 in 40 innings.

RYAN LOUGHLIN, Rocky Point, P/LF, Sr.

He batted .412 with 11 RBIs, 15 runs and had six stolen bases. He also went 3-3 with a 1.94 ERA, striking out 37 in 41 1/3 innings.

ELI LOWENSTEIN, Bellmore JFK, IF/P, Sr.

Lowenstein, a 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection, hit .460 with 40 hits, 18 RBIs, 45 runs and had 15 stolen bases.

ISIAH MARINO, Division, SS, Sr.

He batted .342 with a .514 OBP, a home run, 26 RBIs, 29 runs, four doubles and had 10 stolen bases. Marino is a Molloy commit.

KYLE MESSINA, Sayville, SS, Sr.

He hit .370 with a .410 OBP, 15 RBIs, 18 runs and had 10 stolen bases. Messina is committed to play football at Colgate.

KEEGAN McELLIGOTT, St. John the Baptist, SS, Jr.

McElligott hit .250 with a .375 OBP and had eight stolen bases. He is a Binghamton commit.

BRADY McGOWAN, Eastport-South Manor, SS, Jr.

McGowan, who enters his fourth varsity season and will be ESM’s leader, scored 12 runs and had nine stolen bases. The Marist commit had just two errors in 97 chances.

DANIEL McDONNELL, Southampton, SS, Sr.

He batted .362 with a .486 OBP. The Roger Williams commit had a 2.16 ERA, striking out 58 in 45 1/3 innings.

TYLER McKILLOP, Bayport-Blue Point, SS/P, Sr.

He batted .350 with five doubles, a triple, 18 RBIs, 22 runs and had five stolen bases. McKillop is committed to UMass Lowell.

JACK MOLINI, Floyd, P/1B, Sr.

The 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection batted .452 with 28 RBIs. The Le Moyne commit had a 1.90 ERA in 54 1/3 innings, striking out 66.

RYAN MORASH, Calhoun, P/IF, Sr.

Morash went 3-1 with a 1.50 ERA in 27 innings. He is committed to Maritime.

BRAEDEN MOTT, Pierson, P/3B, Sr.

He went 5-2 with a 1.50 ERA, striking out 50 in 35 innings.

DANIEL NAWROCKI, Chaminade, OF, Sr.

He had a .426 OBP and stole 10 bases. Nawrocki will attend Bucknell.

CONOR O’HAGAN, East Rockaway, C, Sr.

He batted .325 with 14 RBIs. O'Hagan allowed just three passed balls and threw out nine runners in 149 innings.

MICHAEL OLIVETO, Hauppauge, C, Sr.

Oliveto hit .381 with a .519 OBP and had six doubles, three triples, eight homers, 32 RBIs and 28 runs. He is committed to Yale.

MICHAEL ORGERA, Whitman, C, Sr.

He batted .377 with a .506 OBP. The Oneonta commit had 26 hits, 16 RBIs and seven doubles.

ELIJAH OUTLAW, West Babylon, CF/P, Sr.

Outlaw hit .260 with a .403 OBP and had 17 runs and nine stolen bases. He is committed to play football at Southern Connecticut State.

MICHAEL PAGANO, Valley Stream North, C, Sr.

He batted .370 with a .455 OBP and a .992 OPS. The Purchase commit also hit two homers.

PAOLO PALLESCHI, Lynbrook, OF/P, Jr.

He batted .453 with a .554 OBP and 1.063 OPS.

RYAN PALM, Sachem North, P, Sr.

The righthander went 8-0 with a 1.21 ERA, striking out 72 and walking 13 in 51 innings. The 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection, who also went 3-for-3 on save opportunities, is committed to the College of Staten Island.

LUCAS PATTON, East Islip, P/OF, Jr.

He went 5-1 with a 0.68 ERA, striking out 41 in 41 innings. Patton also hit .292 with 12 RBIs and scored eight runs.

JOHN PERICOLOSI, South Side, SS/P, Jr.

Pericolosi's five of his 18 hits went for extra bases. The Stony Brook commit also had 13 walks, 17 runs and 16 stolen bases.

JOE PERRI, Comsewogue, C, Sr.

He batted. 328 with a .999 OPS and had two home runs, 25 RBIs and 12 runs. Perri is committed to Albany.

JACK PITMAN, Sachem North, 2B, Sr.

He batted .337 with a .450 OBP and had 29 hits, 21 runs and 10 stolen bases. Pitman is a Bentley commit.

ETHAN RAMIREZ, Syosset, OF, Sr.

He batted .382 with a .470 OBP and had eight stolen bases. Ramirez is an Emory commit.

KYLE SCHEURER, Oceanside, CF/P, Sr.

He batted .317 with 20 runs and had 21 stolen bases. Scheurer is committed to the University of South Carolina Aiken.

JADEN SCHMIDT, East Islip, P, Sr.

He went 3-0 with a 1.25 ERA, striking out 30 in 28 innings. Schmidt is committed to Albany.

JORDAN SERRANO, Stony Brook School, OF, Sr.

The Wake Forest commit was a 2024 Newsday All-Long Island second-team selection.

CONNOR SHERIDAN, Cold Spring Harbor, SS/CF, Jr.

He hit .550 with three home runs, 18 RBIs, 15 runs and had 10 stolen bases.

OWEN SMITH, East Meadow, IF/P, Sr.

He batted .387 with a .931 OPS and had 15 RBIs.

SEAMUS SMITH, Hampton Bays, P/CF, Sr.

He went 3-0 with a 3.00 ERA, striking out 23 in 28 innings. Smith batted .302 and had 16 hits, 13 RBIs and 14 doubles.

KYLE STELLA, Shoreham-Wading River, SS/P, Sr.

He batted .390 with a .470 OBP and had 30 runs and 18 stolen bases. The Oswego commit went 2-0 with a 0.50 ERA in 14 innings.

JAYDEN STROMAN, Patchogue-Medford, SS/P, Sr.

He is one of the country’s top prospects. Stroman, the younger brother of Yankees starting pitcher Marcus Stroman, is returning to Patchogue-Medford after playing last year at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida.

JASON TORRES, New Hyde Park, P/SS, Sr.

Torres batted .406 with 26 hits. The Molloy commit had a 1.29 ERA, striking out 20 in 16 1/3 innings.

JAXSON TORRES, Plainedge, P, Soph.

He had a 2.26 ERA and a 1.23 WHIP, striking out 48 in 34 innings.

DYLAN TRIPI, MacArthur, C/IF, Sr.

He batted .400 with a 1.180 OPS and had four home runs and 32 RBIs. Tripi is committed to Barry University.

HARRY UVENA, Huntington, OF, Sr.

He batted .444 with a team-leading 28 hits. Uvena also had four outfield assists.

DYLAN VIKARA, Clarke, 3B/P, Sr.

He hit .430 with four home runs and 40 RBIs, the second-most in program history. The Queens College commit also went 4-0 with two saves, striking out 19 in 14 innings of relief.

LUKE VILLELLA, Oceanside, IF/P, Sr.

He batted .382 with 26 hits and 15 RBIs.

BOBBY WESCOTT, Plainedge, 1B/OF, Jr.

He batted .420 with 29 hits, four home runs and 29 RBIs. Wescott is committed to Stony Brook.

DYLAN WILKINSON, Connetquot, P, Sr.

He had seven wins, two saves and a 1.63 ERA in 47 innings, striking out 44.

DEREK YORMACK, Bellmore JFK, IF/P, So.

He hit .384 with a 1.025 OPS and had 28 hits and 28 RBIs. The Duke commit also had three wins and struck out 67 in 35 innings.

RYAN YORMACK, Bellmore JFK, IF/P, Sooh.

He batted .456 with a 1.506 OPS and had 31 hits, six home runs and 28 RBIs. The Duke commit had 15 extra-base hits and 29 runs.

EVERETT ZARZICKI, Kings Park, P/OF, Soph.

He went 6-2 with a 1.25 ERA, striking out 38 in 50 innings. Zarzicki also held opponents to a .132 batting average. He also batted .250 with 14 RBIs and 11 runs.

JAIDEN ZOLLER, Mepham, P/OF, Jr.

He went 4-2 with a 3.04 ERA, striking out 27 in 27 innings. Zoller also batted .405 with a .583 OBP.
