Big 10: Garden City lacrosse takes top spot
Garden City (21-0) went to the state tournament and dominated -- again. Mikaela Rix and Catherine Dickinson each scored three goals and Kelly Weis made 10 saves in a 12-6 win over Brighton that got Garden City a record sixth straight Class B state title. The Trojans finished ranked second in the nation.
2. COLD SPRING HARBOR BOYS TENNIS

The Flyers have won 56 straight CHSAA matches over the past four years. John Reali and Mike Hanley both shot even-par 35 on May 26 as they clinched their fourth straight league title with a win over St. Anthony’s.
4. ST. ANTHONY’S GIRLS LACROSSE
The Friars finished their season three weeks ago, capping it with a fourth consecutive CHSAA Class AA championship and the No. 3 ranking in both the ESPN Rise and LaxPower national polls. The Friars losses came against nationally top-ranked McDonogh (Md.) and No. 2 Garden City.
Defeated Smithtown East by six strokes to win their fourth straight Long Island championship at Bethpage Red.
The Dalers defeated Ithaca, 12-11, to win the school’s first state Class A boys lacrosse championship. It was the 654th victory for long time coach Bob Hartranft and perhaps the sweetest in his 42 seasons as the head man.
Despite being no-hit in a 1-0 loss to Pittsford-Mendon the Class A state finals, Kings Park had the longest postseason ride of any Long Island team in 2011. After beating Seaford, 4-2, in the Long Island Class A championship, Kings Park beat South Glens Falls in the state semis, 6-1, on the strength of Paige Julich's first inning grand slam.
Cortney Fortunato scored on a free position with 1.3 seconds left to give Northport an 11-10 double overtime win over Pittsford for the state Class A title. Shannon Gilroy had four goals in the win.
The Seahawks earned the school’s first Long Island championship with a 5-3 win over Sachem North. Carey’s dream of a state crown ended in a 7-0 semifinal loss to Victor.
The Trojans came within a goal of another state title. The Trojans 15-game win streak ended in an 8-7 overtime loss to Jamesville-DeWitt.
