Big 10: Undefeated Sachem North stays on top

The Flaming Arrows beat Bay Shore, 34-7, to finish the regular season 8-0. It was the second straight year the Flaming Arrows went undefeated in the regular season and the first time in school history they had back-to-back undefeated regular seasons.
The Friars trailed 14-9 entering the fourth quarter against Iona Prep and came back for a 28-20 victory. The Friars, the defending league champions, are the top seed in the CHSFL Class AAA playoffs.
3. HALF HOLLOW HILLS BOYS VOLLEYBALL
They are still undefeated in Suffolk League I and have two of the top offensive forces on Long Island in Chris Kaimis and Mike Degrazia.
The Trojans (14-0-1) wrapped up the regular season with a 1-0 win over Manhasset to capture the Nassau Conference I title. Tara Mahon scored in the second half of Garden City's 14th shutout. They host Cold Spring Harbor in a Class B semifinal tomorrow.
The Dalers and ace Matt Lowe finished 14-0 and have won 42 straight league matches. They wait until spring to play for the Nassau championship.
6. WARD MELVILLE GIRLS SWIMMING
In a matchup of 2010 Suffolk powers, Ward Melville beat Half Hollow Hills, 98-88, last Thursday. The Patriots have won 18 consecutive Suffolk County titles.
Having secured the Suffolk Division I title, the Patriots (14-1) closed out the regular season with a 3-2 win over Sachem East. Callie Vitalo had the deciding goal. They will host the winner of the Connetquot-Sachem North game on Thursday.
The Friars won the regular-season title in the CHSAA and the defending champions are the top seed in the playoffs. They beat St. Dominic, 8-0, and Holy Trinity, 2-0, to cap the regular season.
9. ST. ANTHONY'S GIRLS VOLLEYBALL
They clinched the regular-season CHSAA title and own a slew of impressive non-league and tournament wins.
Forward Rosie DiMartino has at least one point in each of the last nine games and has led Massapequa to an unbeaten season. They are the top seed in the Nassau Class AA playoffs. The defense has allowed two goals the entire season. Massapequa is No. 6 (previously 13) in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America weekly poll.
