In Division’s seventh win in seven games, Mia Gray logged seven points. Some would call triple sevens lucky, but the best players create their own good fortune.

Gray’s sixth goal came 26 seconds into overtime in Division’s 12-11 win over Oyster Bay Thursday in Nassau III. The Blue Dragons average more than 13 goals a game, with Gray providing 35 this season.

New Hyde Park boys lacrosse followed a similar blueprint in Nassau III, winning six straight games to open the season to already tie the Gladiators’ 2024 win total. Tito Ruiz provided three goals and an assist in its win over Bellmore JFK on Thursday, and Brendan Rooney did it all in New Hyde Park’s win on Monday over Hempstead with a goal, six assists and eight ground balls.

Here’s who else stood out this week in Long Island lacrosse.

BOYS LACROSSE

Everett Barsaukas, Clarke: He was the driving force behind Clarke’s wins this week over Uniondale and Roosevelt, totaling five goals and seven assists.

Dylan Baumgarth, Northport: He won all 24 of his faceoffs against Sachem East on Monday and won 17 of his 22 faceoffs against a solid Smithtown East side on Wednesday.

Cian Donaghy, Long Beach: He scored five goals to lead Long Beach to an 8-6 win over Island Trees.

Griffin Pinter, North Shore: Saving 18 shots is good enough, but allowing just four goals in the Vikings' win over Floral Park makes it great. Pinter hasn’t allowed more than five goals in a game since April 2.

Anthony Raio, James Bruno, Luke Bradley, Half Hollow Hills: It’s impossible to pick just one Hills player to highlight when you score a ridiculous 71 goals in three games since April 10. Raio (12 goals, 15 assists), Bruno (17 goals, one assist) and Bradley (eight goals, eight assists) have impressed in all three.

Joe Scavone, Lindenhurst: Scavone scored five goals and assisted four more in the Bulldogs' thrilling 18-14 win over Riverhead on Wednesday. He added three goals and an assist in a loss to Half Hollow Hills on Monday.

Sean Steimle, Mount Sinai: He saved 18 shots in a crucial 8-7 win over Kings Park on Thursday and saved another eight against Hauppauge before subbing out. Shoutout to John Pramataris and Dontae Spadaro as well, leading the Mustangs’ offense this week.

Jackson Thompson, Miller Place: Thompson scored four goals and assisted another, leading the Panthers to an 8-5 win over Mattituck/Greenport/Southold. The Panthers trailed 5-2 at halftime.

GIRLS LACROSSE

Sabrina Boyle, Huntington: Only one goal separated Huntington from Ward Melville, with Boyle’s game-high four goals leading the Blue Devils to its sixth win of the season.

Nicole Buzzetta, Malverne/East Rockaway: No team in Nassau IV is averaging more goals than Malverne/East Rockaway, and Buzzetta added to that by scoring six goals and assisting another in a 14-11 win over Freeport.

Heather Glykos, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK: She has 10 goals and two assists in Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK’s two wins this week. One of those goals served as the overtime winner in Thursday’s 11-10 victory over Bellmore JFK.

Catherine Karman, Port Washington: She opened the week with a seven-goal performance, including a winner with 27 seconds left in a 12-11 decision over Syosset. Karman added a team-high three goals in a one-score loss to South Side.

Marlo Knox, St. Dominic: Knox has been nothing short of brilliant this week, scoring four goals and winning five draw controls for the Bayhawks in their 7-6 win over Sacred Heart on Monday. She added seven goals and an assist in Thursday’s 12-4 win over St. John the Baptist.

Ava Meyn, Bayport-Blue Point: The Phantoms earned a big 13-7 win over Westhampton on Wednesday, with Meyn’s six goals leading the way. She also added two more goals against Miller Place on Monday.

Olivia Mulada, Cold Spring Harbor: Mulada’s six-point performance in a terrific 11-9 win over Manhasset helped the Seahawks overcome a three-goal deficit entering the fourth quarter. Maya Soskin, Ryan Reynolds and Maggie Spehr all had terrific weeks for the Seahawks.

Jadyn Stadler, Syosset: She had five points in a one-goal loss to Port Washington before posting another five, with two goals and three assists, to lead Syosset to its first win of the season Wednesday against North Shore.
