Meet Newsday's All-Long Island cheerleading team for the 2016-17 winter season.

Newsday Cheerleader of the Year: Deanna Carroll, Freeport, Sr.

Carroll is a five-year varsity member and two-time captain for the Red Devils. She is considered by many to be the best center flier on Long Island. Her stretches reach the ceiling and her twisting ability is undeniably her best quality. She tumbles with ease and her facial expressions, dancing ability, layouts, standing tucks and her strength in flying in cheer stunts pits her on another level from her peers. She is also an incredible leader, motivator and role model to the younger cheerleaders and a member of the National Honor Society.

Suffolk Cheerleader of the Year: Olivia Mannarino, Hauppauge, Sr.

Mannarino is a four-year varsity member and two-time All-Long Island selection. She performs some of the most elite stunts on Long Island and in the nation, including the new hand to hand inversion that was made legal this year in competition. Her strengths are in her tumbling skills, standing tuck, jump-tuck and layout. She has been a staple within Hauppauge's varsity cheer program for four years.

Shannon Diesel, Bethpage, Sr.

A five-year starter, Diesel is an exceptional athlete who has shown the ability to participate in every position the sport offers. Her skills in tumbling add another element to her abilities.

Kristen Flatley, Rocky Point, Sr.

A powerful leader with great drive and precise execution, Flatley has been key to two county championships and two UCA Empire Regional Championships.

Pam Franco, Seaford, Sr.

Franco impressed her coaches with a never-ending ability to improve. She successfully executed all of her stunts this season.

Sabrina Hill, Wantagh, Sr.

Hill made UCA history this year, becoming the first athlete to ever complete a triple jump standing full. A flyer her entire cheer life, Hill made the switch to main base out of necessity this season, Wantagh coach Matt Schneyer said, and performed flawlessly.

Britney Jahrmarkt, West Babylon, Jr.

The flyer is a team captain whose elite stunts include double-ups, switch-ups, one-man's and basket tosses. As a gymnast, Jahrmarkt performs flawless standing tucks and hand-hand tucks, coach Brianne Hyer said.

Danielle Klein, MacArthur, Sr.

All-Long Island the second consecutive year, Klein is an elite main base and elite in tumbling. Klein also excels as a leader, often teaching newer routines to her teammates.

Alexa Pinnavaia, Sachem North, Sr.

A two-year captain and four-year member of varsity, she is one of the strongest bases to have ever come through Sachem North.

Brittany Reh, Rocky Point, Sr.

Reh was a member of the Eagles' county championships in 2016 and 2017, and she's a returning member of the All-Long Island second team. On varsity since eighth grade, Reh is a motivator for her teammates.

Halle Rosen, Smithtown West Sr.

She has some of the most elite tumbling passes, running fulls and standing tuck. She is one of the strongest bases and backspots on Long Island.

Isabella Takacs, Mount Sinai, Soph.

She is an elite tumbler who completed not one but two round off backhand spring fulls. She is an athlete who performs all out in every routine.

Saadiya Toliver, Freeport, Jr.

In her fourth year on varsity, she electrified the Red Devils' routines with her tumbling and jumping. Her toe-touches go higher than her ears.

Lexi Toscano, Smithtown East, Sr.

A reliable secondary base who even flew at times for the betterment of the team, Toscano is a leader emotionally and on the mat. Her jumps were hyperextended and well executed.

Coach of the Year: Brianne Hyer, West Babylon

She led the Eagles to the Suffolk Large Schools Division I championship.
