Crowley, Ray help Bayport-BP cross country win
Connor Crowley took third in 13:23.47 and Joe Ray finished fifth in 13:39.43 as Bayport-Blue Point took first in the varsity A race Saturday at the Manhattan College Cross Country Invitational.
Massapequa's Andrew Valenski took first in 13:13.81.
In other Manhattan Invitational races: Zach Krause finished 4th in 13:15.11 and teammate Tyler Murtha (13:24.46) took sixth as Connetquot finished second in the varsity B race.
Great Neck South's Daniel Siegel finished third in 13:07 in the varsity B race, which was the fastest time for a Long Island runner.
John Lee took sixth in the varsity C race in 13:39.98 and led Shoreham-Wading River to a second-place finish. St. Anthony's, led by Thomas Diliberto (13:22.38) with a fourth-place finish, won the varsity D race.
Harborfields wins. Austin Coneys took second in 17:05.7 and was one of four Harborfields runners to finish in the top six in the varsity A race at the Suffolk Officials Invitational at Sunken Meadow State Park. Ty Gamble (17:37.32) finished third, Conor Murphy (17:57.71) was fourth and Ricardo Gallegos (18:00.36) sixth.
Westbury's Owen Skeete took first in 16:49.83.
Robert Johnson (18:17.77) finished eighth as Floyd had four runners in the top 11 for a second-place finish.
Ryan Colabella took first in 17:18.89 for Hauppauge in the varsity B race. Ward Melville took first, led by Chaz Abad, who finished seventh in 17:55.11 and Kurt Steinmuller who was eighth in 17:59.42.
GIRLS CROSS COUNTRY
Harborfields wins. Kelsey Margey ran to a second-place finish in 18:43.65, followed by teammate Michelle Gaye, who took third in 19:46.93, as Harborfields won the varsity A race at the Suffolk Officials Invitational at Sunken Meadow. Harborfields' Chelsea Farinacci and Kelsey Mahoney finished seventh and eighth, respectively.
Port Washington, led by Sara Giraldo with a 10th-place finish, took second. Teammate Allegra Maldonado was 11th.
Ryleigh Donegan took fourth in 21:27.39 as Center Moriches won the varsity B race. Garden City eighth-grader Jen Gerland took first overall in 19:48.18.
Hauppauge took second and Sayville finished third in the varsity B race.
Paul wins at Manhattan. Rachel Paul took first in 15:08.23 for Sachem East in the varsity C race at the Manhattan Invitational at Van Corlandt Park.
Smithtown took second overall led by Paige Koenig and Alyssa Knott, who finished eighth and ninth, respectively.

Baldwin 5, Carle Place 2:DayLynn Wu and Alexandra Hampton defeated Jessica Pisani and Kristina Deonaraine at first doubles, 6-2, 6-2, to lead Baldwin (5-3) in Conference III-B. Baldwin's Sandy Cheng defeated Brittney Hu, 7-6 (7-4), 6-3 in third singles.Eastport-South Manor 7, Southold 0:Natalie Vero defeated Sarah Stromski, 6-2, 6-1 at first singles to lead Eastport-South Manor (7-4) in League VIII.Shoreham-Wading River 7, Hampton Bays 0: Jaclyn Lasita and Brielle Mauder defeated Chessa Shepard and Alyssa Sardone, 6-3, 6-0, at second doubles for Shoreham-Wading River (11-3) in League IV.
