Newsday's annual list of the top girls cross country runners for the fall 2022 season, listed in alphabetical order. All times are 5-kilometers unless otherwise noted.

Mullane Baumiller, Sayville, Jr.

She was ninth in the Class B race in 20:51.96 at the Suffolk state qualifier at Sunken Meadow last season.

Dylan Cashin, East Hampton, Jr.

Cashin ran 20:25.79 at Fireman’s Field in Ridge last October, her best time of the season, according to milesplit.com.

Cameron Coletti, South Side, Sr.

She placed fourth in last season's Class B at the Nassau state qualifier, running 20:04.39 at Bethpage State Park.

Olivia Czoch, St. Anthony’s, Soph.

Czoch finished third at the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA league championships, running the Sunken Meadow 2.5-mile course in 16:53.63.

Blair Davi, St. Anthony’s, Sr.

She was fourth at the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA league championships in 17:01.83 on the 2.5-mile course at Sunken Meadow.

Aislinn Frazer, Friends Academy, Soph.

The fastest returner in Nassau, she ran 19:20.4 and placed ninth in Class B at the public school state championships at Chenango Valley State Park.

Anna Gansrow, Eastport-South Manor, Jr.

She ran 19:50.26 and placed third in the Class A race at last year’s Suffolk state qualifier at Sunken Meadow.

Emily Hamel, St. John the Baptist, Sr.

Hamel finished fifth at the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA league championships in 17:17.06 on the 2.5-mile course at Sunken Meadow.

Katie Hayes, Northport, Sr.

Hayes finished ninth at the Peconic Invitational in 23:36.77 at Red Creek Park in Hampton Bays last September.

Lana Jewett, South Side, Soph.

Jewett was second in Class B at the Nassau state qualifier, running 19:56.38 at Bethpage State Park.

Emily LaMena, Glenn, Sr.

She finished sixth in the Class B race in 20:25.19 at the Suffolk state qualifier at Sunken Meadow.

Zariel Macchia, Floyd, Soph.

Macchia is one of the best runners in the country. She was the highest finishing freshman or sophomore at the Eastbay Cross Country National Championships in San Diego last December, placing 12th in a field of 40 in 17:43.3.

Bella Martocci, North Shore, Jr.

She placed third in Class B at the Nassau state qualifier, running 20:01.38 at Bethpage State Park.

Samantha Mayer, Syosset, Sr.

Mayer is the fastest returner from Nassau’s Class I after running a 19:48.20 at the Nassau class county championships at Bethpage State Park.

Eva Morris, Bayport-Blue Point, Jr.

Morris placed eighth at the Suffolk division championships in 20:28.50 at Sunken Meadow.

She was 19th in the state in Class C, running 20:25.1 at the public school state championships at Chenango Valley State Park.

Amanda Probst, Ward Melville, Jr.

Probst finished fifth in Class A at the Suffolk state qualifier in 20:07.57 at Sunken Meadow.

Carli Sheiffele, Mt. Sinai, Jr.

She and her twin sister, Paige, were the only underclassmen to finish in the top five in the Class B race at the Suffolk state qualifier. Carli was fifth in 20:09.64 at Sunken Meadow.

Paige Sheiffele, Mt. Sinai, Jr.

She’s the fastest Long Island returner in Class B after finishing seventh in 19:08.2 at the public school state championships at Chenango Valley State Park.

Danielle Simonetti, East Islip, Fr.

She finished ninth in the Class A race in 20:34.58 at the Suffolk state qualifier at Sunken Meadow.

She was 11th in the Class A race in 20:42.66 at the Suffolk state qualifier at Sunken Meadow.

Kiera Udell, St. Anthony’s, Sr.

Udell is the fastest returner from the Nassau-Suffolk CHSAA league championships, where she ran the Sunken Meadow 2.5-mile course in 16:46.34.

Emily Wickard, Northport, Jr.

She ran 20:36.60 at the state Federation championships at Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, her best time of the season, according to milesplit.com.

Finnley Wickard, Northport, 8th grade

Mia Wickard’s twin sister was sixth in Class A at the Suffolk state qualifier in 20:14.36 at Sunken Meadow.

Mia Wickard, Northport, 8th grade

One of the best middle-school-aged runners in the state. As a seventh-grader, she placed 28th in Class A at the public school state championships, running 19:15.6 at Chenango Valley State Park.
