Brian Gaffney made his second interception at midfield with 50 seconds remaining to seal a 14-8 win for Mineola (1-1) over East Rockaway (0-2) in Nassau IV Saturday.

On a trick play to open the second quarter, Gaffney (130 yards on 18 carries) took the handoff then threw to Bobby Rodgers for an 18-yard TD. Vinny Bieniek (6-for-10, 190 yards) found Justin Oommen on a play-action pass for a 70-yard TD. Danny McClure hit Joseph Sheridan for a late 18-yard TD pass to pull East Rockaway within six.

West Hempstead 28, Clarke 16: Tayvon Hall ran for 197 yards on 16 carries and scored two TDs to lead West Hempstead (2-0) over Clarke (1-1). Mike Petrizzo added 117 rushing yards on 10 carries, including a 48-yard TD run to put West Hempstead ahead 21-8 with 8:56 remaining in the second quarter. Enrique McFarlane's 12-yard TD run with 9:48 left in the third quarter made it a two-score game.

Cold Spring Harbor 28, Oyster Bay 7: Jordan Walter had 245 yards on 13 carries, including TD runs of 66 and 46 yards, to lead CSH (1-1) over Oyster Bay (0-2). Frankie Stubbolo added 61 yards and two TDs on nine carries. Luke Barron had eight tackles.

Seaford 41, Locust Valley 6: Kyle Kolodinsky had four receptions for 130 yards and a touchdown and a 30-yard TD run to lead Seaford (2-0) over Locust Valley (1-1). Austin Quiroz had 101 yards and three TDs on 15 carries. James O'Hagan had 11 tackles and a sack.
