Marcus Gutierrez runs Connetquot past Brentwood

Ricky Hahn hit Tyler Nason in double coverage with less than two minutes left in the first half to cap an eight-play, 80-yard drive and give Connetquot (4-1) a six-point halftime lead on its way to a 26-21 win over Brentwood in Suffolk I football yesterday.
Marcus Gutierrez's fourth quarter six-yard run gave Connetquot a 26-14 lead. Brentwood scored twice in the first quarter before the Thunderbirds scored four straight touchdowns. Gutierrez had 23 carries for 121 yards and two scores. Sean Moore had 14 tackles, five for a loss and two sacks.Floyd 48, Ward Melville 21:Chris Faison scored three touchdowns, two on the ground and one on a kickoff return, to lead Floyd (3-2). Faison had scores of 15 and 23 yards in the first quarter to put Floyd ahead 14-0.
With 3:53 left in the second, Faison received a kickoff from his own 30-yard line following a Ward Melville score, and broke five tackles on his way to the end zone to make it 34-14 as Floyd led 41-14 at halftime. Jawan Jenkins and Matt Silva each had 12 tackles.
Northport 40, Half Hollow Hills East 20: James Gerdvil had 10 carries for 118 yards and a 55-yard touchdown run, all of which came in Northport's 27-point first half. The Tigers (3-2) led 27-6 at the half and never trailed. Connor Quinn finished with 90 yards rushing on six carries and a TD, while completing 5 of 9 passes for 85 yards and two TDs. Travis Mauro had nine tackles, three for a loss, and a forced fumble.
