Nassau Conference I football Week 6 recap
Alex Vivona scored the go-ahead 70-yard rushing touchdown on a reverse with 48 seconds remaining to give Port Washington a 30-28 win over East Meadow in a Nassau Conference I football game on Saturday.
Henry Haberman had 14 carries for 133 yards and a touchdown, and intercepted a pass at the Port Washington (2-4) 30-yard line with 37 seconds left to seal the win.
Haberman also had three receptions for 49 yards and a 28-yard touchdown catch on fourth-and-6 with 3:40 to go, cutting the deficit to 28-24.
The Vikings trailed 20-0 in the second quarter until Jett Reiter’s 4-yard touchdown reception put them on the board. He also led Port Washington with 11.5 tackles.
East Meadow fell to 3-3.
Massapequa 35, Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK 7: Mike D’Alessandro ran for 55 yards and scored two touchdowns for Massapequa.
D’Alessandro opened up the scoring with a 7-yard run in the first quarter to put Massapequa (6-0) ahead 7-0.
Ryan Heidrich threw for 105 yards and two TDs. His two touchdown passes came in the first quarter, first to Jake Ciolino and then to Ryan Fountain.
Paul Dulanto ran for 85 yards and one TD.
Plainview-Old Bethpage JFK is 1-5.
Farmingdale 36, Westbury 6: Tamaso Ramos rushed for 153 yards and two TDs on nine carries and Jordan Smikle caught a touchdown and recorded a safety to lead Farmingdale.
Anthony Licci completed 4 of 7 passes for 67 yards and a touchdown.
Jabari Wellington rushed for 56 yards and a touchdown on three carries and Sal Posillico rushed for 10 yards and a touchdown on a carry for the Dalers (4-2).
Westbury is 0-4.
Freeport 42, Uniondale 14: D’Angelo Gordon rushed for 150 yards and two TDs and completed 5 of 9 passes for 111 yards and two TDs for Freeport (4-2).
Nazair Jean-Lubin had five receptions for 111 yards and two TDs. He also had a 65-yard interception return for a TD. Uniondale is 0-5.
