Joey Goodman scored his third touchdown on a 12-yard run in the second overtime to lead Calhoun past Herricks, 27-20, in Nassau Conference II Saturday. Pete Thomann deflected a Herricks pass on fourth-and-9 on the Highlanders second overtime possession to seal the win.

Ryan Oommen scored on a 5-yard run in the first overtime to give Herricks (1-3) a 20-13 lead. Calhoun (3-1) answered with 3-yard run by Josh Bailey to tie the score at 20.

The Colts trailed 13-0 with 7:15 left in the fourth quarter. Following a Goodman 1-yard TD run to bring Calhoun within a score, the Colts earned a stop on defense. On the ensuing drive, Matt Edouard took a screen pass 50 yards down the field that set up a Goodman 1-yard quarterback sneak to tie the game at 13 and force overtime. Aaron Cho caught two touchdown passes from Thomas Napolitano in the loss.

Carey 35, Elmont 8: William Tolliver had 261 yards of total offense and found the end zone three times for Carey. Tolliver rushed for 208 yards and two scores on 12 carries and caught a 53-yard touchdown pass. Matt Metzger completed all six passes for 149 yards and two touchdowns. Shane Hogan caught a 12-yard TD pass in the second half and Matteo Tufano had an interception for the Seahawks (2-2). Elmont fell to 2-2.

Baldwin 35, Sewanhaka 20: Anthony Byron rushed for 208 yards and three touchdowns on 25 carries to lead Baldwin. Angel Johnson had an 11-yard touchdown run to give Baldwin a 12-8 lead in the second quarter. Baldwin (2-2) outscored Sewanhaka (0-3), 23-0, in the second half and Byron scored all three of his touchdowns in the second half. Cedric Jean-Pierre had an interception with 47 seconds left in the fourth quarter to seal the victory.

Garden City 41, Long Beach 7: Jack Cascadden rushed for 132 yards and three touchdowns for Garden City. Cascadden opened the scoring with a 14-yard rushing score in the first quarter. He found the end zone for the third time in the second quarter with a 19-yard run, giving Garden City (4-0) a 34-0 lead. Stevie Finnell added 40 yards and a touchdown on the ground. Ryan Maher scored Garden City’s fifth rushing touchdown with a one-yard run in the fourth quarter. Long Beach is now 1-3.

New Hyde Park 29, Valley Stream Central 0: Nick DePompeis rushed for 112 yards and one touchdown and threw a touchdown for New Hyde Park. DePompeis connected with Dom Fulgieri on a 55-yard touchdown pass to open the game’s scoring. Fulgieri had four catches for 125 yards, two touchdowns, and made an interception. Fulgieri scored his second touchdown on a 12-yard pass from Vicente Alvarenga in the fourth quarter. Alvarenga passed for 110 yards and two touchdowns. James Ausmus added a receiving touchdown for the Gladiators (3-1). Eric Orbon had 11 tackles. Valley Stream Central is now (2-2).
